 Hi, I'm Rev. Geneva Butz, Associate Conference Minister for Church Development.
This is a critical time to be growing vital churches. We are living in a secular society in which the majority of today's young people have not grown up in church. In fact, a large percentage have never been inside a church.
To engage newcomers in a life of faith, church people must have vision and self-awareness to grow meaningful and spirit-filled communities of faith.
Your gifts will support congregations seeking to rejuvenate their spiritual life and their sense of God’s mission, as well as plant new churches in our region.
Currently 23 congregations participate in a Three-Year Church Revitalization Program. In addition, five congregations are committed to the Covenant Church Program, a rigorous program of growth and vitality for congregations with new pastors.
Your giving will also support the process by which established congregations affiliate with the United Church of Christ. Three such churches have affiliated with Pennsylvania Southeast Conference since 2007 and several others are in conversation to consider affiliation.
